About this course
The Occupational English Test which is popularly known as OET is the English language test for healthcare professionals. It is used to assess the language communication skills of healthcare professionals who wish to register and practice in an English-speaking environment. OET is recognised by regulatory health care boards and councils in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Dubai, Singapore, Namibia and Ukraine. OET is used as a proof by many universities, hospitals, and organisations to check the candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in a health care environment. It is also recognised by Australian Department of Home Affairs and Immigration New Zealand for all visa categories where English test is required. The level to be achieved is determined by the recognising organisation.
The exam is marked on numeric scores which is then converted to grades. It ranges from A to E, A being the highest and E the lowest. There is no overall grade for OET. The OET exam is available 14 times in a year. The test can be taken from any test centre in the world. Results are published online and it comes after 16 working days after the exam.

What is the pattern of the exam?
The exam comprises four sections. The exam is divided into four parts of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking respectively. The listening exam is about 45 minutes, reading is of 60 minutes, writing is of 45 minutes and speaking is of 20 minutes.
How should I register for the OET exam?
It can be registered from the official website of OET.
What is the validity of an OET score card?
It is valid for a period of two years.
